Mountains do not hold a particular fascination for me. However, this book's title caught my attention and the subject piqued my curiosity. This book is a fast moving narrative which covers a decade of adventures by a small group of friends bent on exploring progressively higher and more challenging mountains and terrain. It recounts tales of places visited and mountains climbed without the usual tedious (for a non-climber) minutiae of the technicalities. Instead it focusses on the events surrounding these visits - tents shredded by nocturnal predators, mixing it with the military on manoevers and so on.
